MICHAEL DANTE DiMARTINO
Hello! I’m an artist turned writer and producer best known for co-creating the epic animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. My creative journey began at the Rhode Island School of Design, where I honed my craft in the Film and Animation department. After moving to Los Angeles, I worked as a director on beloved shows like King of the Hill and Family Guy.

From 2004 to 2014, I was the executive producer and story editor for Avatar and Korra. When Korra wrapped, I continued her story by writing the graphic novels Turf Wars and Ruins of the Empire.
Although animation was my first love, I had another creative goal—to write novels. I embraced that challenge with Rebel Genius, the first book in a middle grade fantasy series about young artists and their birdlike spirits, known as Geniuses, battling a tyrant who stifles creativity.
Expanding my creative boundaries further, I ventured into audio storytelling as the creator and writer of the Audible Original fiction podcast, Sundown: A Time Capsule Society Mystery. And the journey doesn't stop there—I am currently the co-Chief Creative Officer of Avatar Studios, where I am helping expand the Avatarverse.
Recently, my storytelling interests have taken a fresh turn with Both Here and Gone, a heartfelt coming-of-age story with a psychological twist.
Whether it's through animation, graphic novels, podcasts, or books, I'm all about telling stories that resonate, inspire, and stick with you long after the last page is turned or the credits roll. Thanks for joining me on this adventure!
